Welcome to the ‘Intermission’ blog of Michelle Strom and Tom Berend.
Why “Intermission”? We usually think of an intermission as a break or pause between two acts of a performance, however when viewed from backstage there is actually all sorts of activity happening to set the stage afresh.
And so, we are taking an intermission. On September 1, 2008, we left our jobs, and headed off to South America, to learn Spanish, climb mountains, study the Argentine Tango, and re-invent ourselves. And fall in love all over again.
It’s not a retirement, we’re still too young. We plan to come back refreshed, re-energized, and ready to do something new (Tom already has a new business plan in his drawer). We expect the ’second half’ of the play to be as interesting and fun as the first half was.
